Dr Laila explains exactly how to prevent cervical cancer is easy, by Pap smear or Visual Inspection acid (VIA).

The cost for early detection was much cheaper than the cost of taking medications.

IVA cost around Rp 5 thousand and can be done at the health center, while the Pap smear around USD 100-200 thousand. Although the price is much different, but Dr. Laila says that the sensitivity of both methods is nearly 90 percent.

Both examinations are usually done for women who are married or who have had sexual intercourse.

As for women who have never been, how to prevent it can be done with the HPV vaccine.

"According to the Guidelines in Indonesia, it was 10 to 55 years (which can be vaccinated against HPV)," said Dr Laila.

For the HPV vaccine around USD 700 to 1.2 million once syringes and needles should be done 3 times for 6 months. But this jumalh much cheaper when compared to the cost of treatment up to Rp 60 million.
