Deodorant Trigger Breast Cancer

Deodorant Trigger Breast Cancer

News stating deodorants cause breast cancer has spread from a few years ago. However, this study for the first time to explain why this happened.

Recent studies have found chemical preservatives in thousands of products antiperspirant or deodeoran, which lead to breast cancer tumors.

These chemicals, known as parabens, are not found in deodorant products, but also other products, such as shampoo, soap and makeup, as well as processed meats, cakes kiring even the contraceptive pill. However, this study focuses parabens in deodorant products.

Researchers from the University of Reading believes that there is a significant relationship between parabens and breast cancer triggers after research by analyzing breast cancer samples from 40 women who underwent mastectomy (surgical removal of the breast cancer) between 2005 to 2008 are vulnerable.

Then the researchers measured the concentration of parabens in breast tissue through four points, ranging from the armpit, breast to breast bone.

Researchers found that about 99 percent of women who tested positive in the study had one paraben, while 60 percent were found to have up to five parabens in breast tissue. Researchers also detected parabens in samples with concentration levels to 20.6 ng / g in each tissue.

The researchers explain that parabens have now had the same reaction to the female hormone estrogen function. As it is known that estrogen hormom is a cause of breast cancer risk.

The other part of breast cancer is also located in or near the armpit, which is usually used deodorant. Researchers believe that parabens can enter and absorbed into the skin.

However, Dr.Philippa Darbre, researchers from Reading's School of Biological Sciences who conducted this research would not rush to conclude everything. As only about seven percent of the women who were tested in the study stated that they never use deodorant, so other possibilities parabens can get from other sources, other than deodorant.
